Despite the many types of hairspray, there are only minimal differences in application. To distribute the hairspray evenly over the hair, you should spray from a distance of around 30 cm. Keep the spray can in motion. This will prevent individual sections of hair from getting too much of the spray. You should use the spray sparingly and re-spray if necessary.
