Fake freckles: how to achieve a fresh summer look

If you want to give your summery look a boost with fake freckles, you have various different methods to choose from. The basic rule is that the freckles should look as natural as possible, which is why you need to keep a few things in mind:

How to apply fake freckles with an eyebrow pencil:

2. Use the pencil to create small dots on the skin of your face, varying the size and intensity of the dots.
3. Start at the nose and then move left and right over the cheeks.
4. Then dab carefully over the dots so that they blend easily. If you have previously used foundation, this works particularly well.
5. If you tend to have oily or greasy skin, we recommend a finish with a translucent powder. The freckles will last longer and won’t smudge.

The advantage of this method is that you can wash off the eyebrow pencil immediately if you don’t like the result. You can also determine the intensity of the fake freckles yourself.

The disadvantage is that the freckles can smudge. Overall, the method does not last as long as other methods.

Use a cotton bud or a fine brush to apply the self-tanner as fake freckles.

1. First cleanse your face thoroughly.
2. Apply a moisturiser as a base.
3. Then carefully dab the self-tanner onto the areas of your nose, cheeks and forehead where you want the freckles to appear.
4. Then gently pat the self-tanner into the skin. Avoid rubbing, otherwise it will smudge.
5. Allow the self-tanner to dry completely before applying other products.
6. After a few hours, the freckles will be clearly visible.

The advantage of this method is that the fake freckles look very natural when applied correctly and blend in perfectly with the skin. The freckles are also long-lasting.

The disadvantage is that incorrect application can lead to smudges. The application also requires some practice.

Root spray is usually used on the roots of the hair. However, you can also use it to create fake freckles. Choose a colour that matches your skin tone. It is best to test the colour on your hand beforehand.

1. Shake the can well and then spray your face from a distance of 10 to 15 cm.
2. Use short, light pumps in the desired areas to create fake freckles.
3. Important: Close your eyes and mouth completely while spraying and hold your breath briefly.
4. Allow the spray to dry before touching your face or applying any more make-up. You can speed up the drying process by using a hairdryer on a cool setting.

The advantage of this method is that the freckles are quickly applied to the entire face and the result is immediately visible. If you have opted for a waterproof spray, the method also lasts well on the skin and does not smudge.

The downside is that the freckles can look uneven if you don’t apply them carefully. In addition, some foundation sprays contain ingredients such as alcohol, which can dry out the skin.

Henna is a substance that has traditionally been used in many cultures for body painting.

1. First make sure that you can tolerate henna by dabbing a little henna on your hand.
2. If there is no reaction after a day, you can carefully press dots of henna onto your skin.
3. Then wait half an hour and you can remove the excess henna with a tissue.

The advantage: With henna, you get fake freckles that last a really long time. They can last up to several weeks. What’s more, henna is a natural product.

The disadvantage of fake freckles with henna is that they are challenging to apply. For example, henna can smudge if it hasn’t dried completely. The intensity of the colour can also vary greatly. In the first few days in particular, the colour is often still intense and only fades over time. If you don’t like the henna freckles, it will be difficult to get rid of them quickly – the only thing you can do is cover them up with concealer.
