For optimum effect and to avoid the formation of 'wax tunnels', the candle should burn until the wax has liquefied to the edge of the glass. Extinguish the flame with the lid. Allow the candle to harden before lighting it again. Shorten the wick to a maximum length of 6 mm before lighting. Protect the surface on which the candle is placed. Do not leave it burning for more than four hours at a time. Never leave the candle unattended or within the reach of children or pets.
